We employed Libran Management to help set up a Practice Membership Scheme early in 2002. We had seen adverts in the Dental press and felt they offered a service that would enable us to achieve our goal quickly and efficiently. Lyndsay was extremely helpful from the first phone call. She has experience of working with many practices and was able to guide us through compiling the plan best suited to our patients and practice. We were provided with sample patient letters, paperwork etc for the implementation of our plan. Lyndsay made herself available to us through out the change over and we exchanged many emails and phone calls. We were introduced to National Dental Plan who provides the insurance aspect of the membership scheme and this has proved a hassle-free arrangement.

The whole procedure was set up with the minimum delay and disruption. We are delighted with the outcome for our practice: 400 capitation scheme patients are now members of our Practice scheme and the majority of new patients “signing up” with us at the first or second visit. We had helpful advice and reassuring conversations with Lyndsay over the months and are still in touch with her. We have recommended her services to other dentists in Northern Ireland and have met her on a visit to follow up interest generated.

We have no hesitation in endorsing Lyndsay and Libran Management as providing a quick and efficient “conversion”. Every detail was taken care of and we were provided with a tailor made plan that contained all the aspects important to our dentists and patients.

Thanks for all your help with setting up `Aberplan`.

We had a fantastic first month with approx a 70%conversion rate.

All our staff are very much behind the plan.

We are now finding patients coming in asking to join before we send them the invitation.

We are very much looking forward to continuing with the conversion.

I can recommend Lyndsay of Libran to any practice that wants to convert its patients (NHS or private) to an in house payment scheme.

Her experience of problem solving and systems set-up has been invaluable to my practice’s very successful conversion.

She is very approachable and all my staff thought very highly of her.

To cap it all, her professional services represent very good value for money.

So if you are planning to do this type of conversion, you have 2 options:

 1) It makes good business sense to shop around for what is available and then recruit Libran as your resource.

This is exactly what I did and Libran was the best value for money by far.

 2) Better still, go directly to Libran and save yourself a lot of hard work and hassle!

I fulfilled an ambition by opening a squat practice in October 1998 in Hillsborough, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. The practice was only the second in Northern Ireland to be set up as a private practice from the very outset, and the first successful one, a fact of which I am very proud.

From inception, my idea had been to offer some sort of practice registration scheme to patients to set out clearly who my regular committed patients were and to reward those patients for their loyalty. However I did not do this from the outset as I had the perception that people would not like to commit to a practice they had no experience of.

In September 2001 I knew I wanted to establish a practice registration and a particular reason for doing so was to define the patients I had legal obligation to attend out of hours (remember you have no NHS registrations to define this in a private practice).

I had previously read an article in one of the dental press by Lyndsay Lucocq of Libran Management Ltd, offering to set up a scheme tailored to one’s specific needs for a fixed fee.

After initial telephone discussion of my circumstances, Lyndsay guided me through a process of discovering what I did and did not want in my own scheme. This was done through a number of telephone calls and by e-mail communication.

She was able to offer a fully tailored in house patients’ payment scheme with insurance provided by National Dental Plan to a level at least as good as comparable well known capitation scheme providers, yet for a significantly lower monthly fee. I personally decided not to go along the route of full capitation, but instead opted for a practice registration and maintenance style scheme to encourage loyalty from my patients and develop a more preventive approach to their oral health.

Once my desired design was established, Lyndsay drafted all necessary documents including patient information, legal terms and conditions of the scheme and management and operation of the scheme by practice staff. She was tireless in drafting these items until they were entirely to my liking. I liked the fact that, having managed an eight practice group, Lyndsay understood the business and practice of dentistry very clearly. This aloud her to provide very accurate and informed advice on marketing and financial implications of my own scheme design.

Having spent much of the last year working with Lyndsay Lucocq, and her
Libran Management Company, I'm really pleased to have achieved so much.
Lyndsay is quite a ‘Mrs Fix it’, she makes things happen. It’s often difficult to
bring those conceptual ideas we all have to fruition, but the drive Lyndsay
brings makes things happen.

Like the ad says 'just do it'.

When I first spoke to Lyndsay, about 14 months ago, she asked me what kind of help I was looking for. I told her that I wanted to set up my own dental practice. However, I added that I had no money, no premises and no experience of running anything. I said I wanted somebody who had experience and would guide me through everything I needed to know about the process. I also wanted a mentor/tutor. She has fulfilled these roles completely.

What I have learnt about Lyndsay is that if she promises to do something, she will absolutely deliver. She never promises what she can’t do.

Over the past 14 months of working with her I feel I can trust her completely.

She is an incredibly positive woman and because she doesn’t ever give up she has always found ways around the problems and challenges I have faced.

She is a fantastic motivator, truly inspirational and capable of inspiring confidence in others.

She will always see the other sides of an issue and is a ‘great ideas’ person.

Lyndsay has been a very positive influence on me and my practice.

From setting up working systems, training staff, dealing with business problems, helping raise finances, marketing the practice, even finding me dentists. In short she has influenced everything.

Because of her in-depth understanding of the actual ’nuts and bolts’ of running a dental practice she has always been able to focus any of my ideas and helped introduce other ideas if they are appropriate. She is the perfect ‘devils advocate’ and hence has been the ideal person for me to work with creatively on this new practice.

One year on and I now find myself the principal of a general dental and specialist practice in Nottinghill. I have incredible people working here and we are all happy.

None of this would have been possible or would have worked so well without lyndsay.

It’s not an exaggeration to say she has changed my life as a dentist.

Lyndsay Lucocq at Libran Management offered us the best
way forward. She helped us to design our plan, which is mainly maintenance, but also offers patients the option to pay for their treatment over 12 months. She trained our team members, and set up the insurance arrangements required offering our patients the accident and emergency cover. We now do all our own admin including direct
debit collection, and our scheme is very successful. You know exactly what your costs will be with Lyndsay managing your conversion, as these are decided at the beginning, and don’t change half way through,
although I am sure we caused her more work than she had anticipated.

Lyndsay’s advice is well researched, sensible, and workable. We would have no hesitation in recommending her to other practitioners wanting to make the break from either the NHS or from corporate capitation schemes.

When we decided as a practice to start our own membership plan 2 years ago we had little idea of how to go about it.  Chris Barrow recommended Libran Management so we contacted Lyndsay.

Lyndsay is a straight forward personable lady who was happy to listen to our needs and then steer us in the right direction to bring those needs to fruition.

When times could have been stressful Lyndsay’s calm approach kept everything in perspective.

We have now been running our own membership plan for just over a year and it is the best thing we could have done.  Lyndsay is still available to help if ever we need her, though we haven’t really needed her and we are happy to recommend her services to our fellow dental professionals.

I
contacted Libran at the end of 2003 on the recommendation of a specialist referral practice that Lyndsay had helped to set up.

Over the last 18 months she has been there every step of the way while we have converted from a four surgery mixed NHS to a totally private practice for non-exempt patients and set up a direct debit dental payment plan. Libran has a full range of practice support services and in a series of consultative meetings we established both the structural changes necessary to make the jump and formulated a practice policy to train staff and allocate responsibility.

We finally launched our scheme in Mach 2005, and with hindsight, our principal regret is that we had waited so long to make the commitment.
